I called Goodyear on 8/9/2023 to get pricing information and set an appointment that was set for the next day. I took car in on 8/10/2023 at 1:15 pm for an oil change.

They know I'm waiting so I go sit in the waiting area. After 4 pm, I'm called to check out. I complain about the amount of time that I've had to sit here and I had an appointment. He acts as if he doesn't know anything about an appointment and they have my check-in time at a much later time so that it looks like I haven't been there as long as I actually had.

To add insult to injury, the price is no where near the discussed price. The guy was basically like well I don't know who you talked to. Then I showed him that the quoted price was the same price online. He tells me that the extra fee was for oil beyond the 5 quarts, my engine takes 5.1 quarts.

Are you telling me the an additional 0.1 quarts takes the advertised price of 64.99 + tax to 99.99 + tax? He never did actually explain to me why I was being overcharged. Plus they advertise free tire rotation with oil change services and I didn't get that either.

The free tire rotation was one of the selling points that made me choose them over others. I left with my back hurting from sitting in that chair for so long, angry for being cheated and overcharged and down right pissed that after all that they didn't even rotate my darn tires.

FIRST TIME GOING TO GOODYEAR ON WEST COLONIAL DRIVE AND IT WILL BE MY LAST!!!

Goodyear auto service center located at 11906 Reisterstown road, Reisterstown MD did an unprofessional job handling my vehicle and communicating with me and my family about my vehicle, on top of not fix the issue at hand after paying $525 for a full diagnostic, tune up, and spark plugs. Please email me or call me for full details and evidence that Good year auto service did not complete their job and had me waste money on services.

Goodyear 24th Ave Ft.Gratiot New struts on a 2019 GMC 1500 4wd Had trouble finding correct part in the time frame I had. Counter Man Ron went way out and above my expectations finding and getting the parts shipped! This is the 2nd time I have used your company and location in a year. I'm extremely happy with your store. People always complain if they have a problem, but many times they fail to compliment when they should. I'll be using them from now on

I decided to try another place to get my car fixed. A small place with three mechanics only. They not only fixed the breaks but else so fixed the light on dashboard. All that for $295. Imagine what Goodyear would be changing me? Plus they don’t fixe any *** The mess up your car and laughing on your face. They are bad boys. Damaged Vehicle

Updated by user Apr 24, 2019

So the "repair" to my Leaking tire was not done properly as I woke up this morning to a flat tire again. i will not being taking my car back to this store!

Original review Apr 23, 2019
Today is 4/23/2019 and I just picked my vehicle up from one of your locations and there has been damage to the lower front end bumper. Store Location : 9631 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Fredericksburg, Va 22407 Manager Joey Guinn. I went into today for a leaking tire and Suspension diagnosis and I specifically told the salesman when checking in to notate on my paperwork that the car is NOT to be pulled into a parking spot when they are done, that it can only be backed in. I explained to the salesman that the car is lowered and will hit the curb if someone isn't careful. Upon picking my car up I saw that the car was pulled into the parking spot and when I went to look at the car it had be pulled up over the curb and the Carbon Fiber is scrapped on the front and bottom. I immediately went inside and asked the Manger Joey Guinn to come outside and see where it was scratched. I asked him why was the car pulled into the parking spot when I specifically stated to only back the car in. His response was only "sorry about that". He offered to do nothing about it and walked back into the building. I told him I would be calling the corporate office since he was not concerned about the damages. I will file a complaint with my insurance company for the damages if we can not come to a repair solution immediately. I'm more upset at the fact that my customer request was not followed and more upset that the technician driving the car knew he ran on the curb ( because he would have heard and felt it scrap ) and then didn't bother to tell the manager that he made a mistake. This is poor customer service and responsibility on the technician and manager of one of your stores

Good year blew up my sons engine and is not taking responsibility

Good year put a manufacturer defective oil filter in my son's car and a week later the engine blew. He had less than 50K miles on his car and it ran fine before he took it there. They even showed us the defective oil filter. Now, they are not taking responsibility. Don't use them. He will be taking them to court and please pray he wins. Because for a 33 year old to have to pay lawyer expenses, it can be costly. I just can't believe that Good year is not taking responsibility. They have been around for years. What kind of training do they provide to their employees? Anyone know of an Attorney in Colorado Springs area that would handle this case?

Extremely poor communication and consideration

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I took the time to call the Ellicott City MD Goodyear Tire Service Center at 9180 Baltimore National Pike in Ellicott City, MD 21042 with a Merchants Tire Quote which was over $109.00 less than the quote I received from this goodyear location on the EXACT same tires Goodyear Assurance Max Fuel so I was comparing apples to apples and being honest about my request for a price. I asked about the price match guarantee against a the Merchants Price which was $109.00 less than theirs, I was then told that the merchants price did not include installation. Well, I had the pricing information sitting right in front of me. All totals came out with shop supplies, removal and installation etc etc.to $508.19 including a merchants promotion of 100.00 off a set of 4 tires. The man on the phone at the goodyear store the night of April 6th 2017 was not very receptive to matching the price OR even explaining the price match guarantee when asked repeatedly how the price match guarantee worked. He was reasonably polite however I felt like I was buying a car from used car a dealer with a plaid jacket rather than a set of tires. He actually said to me that my quote was not the actual total when I had it right on paper in front of me from Merchants. This is typically the point where a person hangs up a phone and says forget it! However, I wanted to give him the chance at the business and goodyear was offering a rebate through the store purchase for a set of 4 tires. That's the only reason I was tolerating these antics. Well, needless to say, I never did get a straight answer and was purposefully put on hold, had to call back and finally let him know that he lost my business. He then called me back and I had to ask him not to call me anymore as I would consider it harassment. I have to say... It was BY FAR, the worst experience I have had trying to get a very simple and straight answer from someone after being honest with them on the prices I was quoted by reputable companies, not side-shops. MY RECOMMENDATION; STEER-CLEAR OF THE GOODYEAR SHOP IN ELLICOTT CITY MARYLAND. Save the frustration for when you buy a USED car at a dealership. That was the extent of it. Shop around for your tires, prices vary significantly. Its sad they are not even close to each-other in price and we need to do that as customers. Unfortunately, places like this still exist. **** I obviously too the time to write this review to help the community and share a very poor experience I had that should have never taken place if the worker was well-informed or better educated on pricing policies so he could be more honest with me instead of negotiating like a used car salesman running around my very simple AND polite questions.

I took my car to the Good Year dealer on Gratiot between Severn and  Eight Mile in Detroit. They were busy and had one of their men drive me home. I received a call describing the reason for a charge of 3425.00, for service. The man went on to explain how my car was in bad shape. This did not sound right to me and I talked it over with my son who advised me to have my car towed from this place. While waiting for the tow truck a person identifying as the manager (of sorts) refused to release the car after I paid for the work of checking the car,  because they had already went to Good Year and the finance was approved. (I do have a Good Year Account). My son talked to the manager and he finally gave me the keys after asking me to sell him the car, because he would give me more money than I would get anywhere else? What gave him the right to determine that my car was for sale? The car is a 2004 Sebring that is still in good shape with low miles. Oh yes, The dealer that I took the car to is only charging 245.00 for the same work. DUH

Goodyear Auto Service Center Truck Part Replacement Review from Eastover, South Carolina

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I took my truck in pose to been for a simple starter replacement it was under warranty so i figured what the ***. Goodyear in roseville mi replaced my alternator, front and bad wheel bearings, transmission line, starter, ignition coil, and battery that they billed my warranty. The same day i received my truck back my alternator went out and my starter atill was having a hard time turning over and i still had a misfire. Had to wait til next day to return my truck and upon my inspection they didnt replace my alternator, starter, or battery and i informed saleperson of that of corse he said i was lying until i demanded to see the starter and alternator when they take it off to inspect and upon inspected it sure enough it was atill the original starter alternator battery that they just wipe off to look clean i was able to tell cuz i work for a company that makes all the parts for ford motors and everything has a tag build date, tech build name, quality name, and a p.o number for tracking purposes. It was after this he tried to make it like they must made a mistake the point of the story is dont trust shops their in a business strickly to make money find a personal good trustworthy mechanic . I give Goodyear 0 stars and they should be put out of business. Roseville be aware.

Just tried to contact goodyear was told my starter is out of warranty cuz it been 12 months and 10 days even though clearly states in their warranty policy parts and labor is guaranteed 24,000miles or 24 months. Then he quoted me 300 which is a deal to replace the starter a bit extreme especially the starter is on 40 dollars new OEM and takes literally 15 mins to removed and install.

Would you go to a steak house and bring your own steak that you could buy in a grocery store for a lower price too? Of course not.

An auto center has to turn a profit to keeps its doors open, just like the steak house or any other business. Further, customer supplied parts open a Pandora's box of warranty problems if the customer supplied part failed, exposing the auto center to legal liability issues.

Someone at the shop sabotaged my wife's mini van rear passenger caliper

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I brought my 2007 Saturn in for an oil change. 4 hours later they found 4 things wrong with the car during their inspection. I said ok and paid for the oil change. I arrived with my wife's vehicle to pick up the 07 Saturn and left the 2010 dodge van for the same experience. To my surprise when I picked up the van right before closing it had no issues. I drove it home noticing nothing. My wife chose to tell me 3 days later that there was a strange noise coming from the rear passenger tire that she had not heard before. I blew it off as wet rust rotors because it did rain shortly after the oil change. She once again a week later told me it was still making the noise. So I test drove it and she was right there was a scraping noise coming from the rear passenger tire. This time frame was during the Christmas holiday and I told her I would call Goodyear after Jan 1st. I told a service salesperson I had a issue with the van making noise since the oil change. I set up a appointment and brought it in 2 weeks after the oil change. The salesperson on the phone told me that during the tire rotation something was probably bumped. The van was inspected and I was told that the rear passenger caliper on the inside was seized and rubbing the rotor. Replacing the rotor, brakes and caliper totaled $1100.00. This was for driver and passenger side replacement which is what you should do when fixing...I get it. I asked the salesperson during the oil change , tire rotation and inspection weren't the brakes looked at? The answer was no. Now remember the 07 Saturn was looked at with a fine tooth comb. But not the van. I told the salesperson to button it up and I will be by to pick it up. I picked it up with no charge for the inspection. Several days later my wife had a conversation with a fellow employee about our incident. She told my wife to go to facebook and read about the Goodyear on CR210, it didn't take long reading that there is more to our problem after reading the multiple problems/scams from this establishment. So I decided to call the store manager Steve to tell him my story and what is being said on facebook about his store. He told me that he read thru my paperwork and found that the van was never inspected during the oil change and that the tires were never rotated. He spoke with the salesperson and was told that he forgot to write it on the ticket. Now this is the same salesperson that found numerous things wrong with my 07 Saturn. Same oil change for both vehicles. Plus the first time I called I was told that during the rotation something was probably bumped. Let me say this the tires were rotated. The manager obviously took responsibility away from the store by saying nothing was done except for the oil change. I told him I paid for a oil change, tire rotation and inspection. He said they dropped the ball and a free oil change/tire rotation was there for me. He also offered to help me(discount) with the caliper issue, I told him that I had a friend that I trusted no thanks. I also told Steve that CR210 is a tight community and social media doesn't look good for his store. He thanked me for the heads up.

A brake caliper can not be sabotaged to suddenly make your brakes wear out and need replacing. By your description, one of your vehicles had a courtesy inspection done and the other vehicle didn't, with vehicle B.

needing rear brakes, (that the auto center missed). No one is perfect.

Regardless, that doesn't cause rear brakes to wear out. On a side note, driving around for several weeks with a vehicle making noises from the brakes might not have been the safest thing to do.

NEVER AGAIN!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Don't ever go to Goodyear in Lawrence NY. The place is disgusting! I guess the manager is more concerned with his paycheck then his customers. The manager waited on me and was in such a rush and tried to talk me into spending a lot of money! I told him all I want is an oil change. He persisted, I said NO! So I sat in the filthy waiting area. After over an hour I inquired how long it would be. He said 10 minutes. I walked outside and noticed my car had not even moved! I asked for my keys and left. Where does Goodyear get these people? They need people with personalities to speak with customers.

Over charge and charging for something not needed

I brought my Hyundai Tuscan in for front end alignment, 2/20/16, I was told I would need new camber kits @***.00 a pop times 2, $79.95 for alignment, $82.00 for labor. total was 235.00 I called the Hyundai place on Monday after just for curiosity how much it would have been done there, Hmmm , labor and alignment total would have cost 89.95. No new camber kit needed, just had to realign the one you take off.. the guy was very surprised at them putting new camber kits on, I feel scammed because I'm a woman, I will not recommend Good Year to anyone. Especially a woman.

Goodyear is NOT so Good

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have been a customer of Goodyear for over two years now. On Friday I took my car in for a routine oil change to the service shop located in downtown Indianapolis. Beyond my routine oil change, they called me with a list of problems and quoted me $179 for the services of which I agreed to. When my vehicle was done, they called me with the total of $497 which was NOT the quoted price. I was hung up on when questioning the cost. My boyfriend called back and immediately got the price down to $250 which is still more than what I was quoted. When I arrived at the shop, my car was left UNLOCKED in the parking lot. Given that the manager was not there, I was told to call on Monday to dispute the cost or not take my car with me. I drove about a MILE home with every intention on contacting them on Monday. I have not been able to drive my car because it smells of burning oil and is making loud muffler-like noises from under my hood. There are cables dragging under my car. This is unacceptable.
